About
Meet Sonia
The person behind Wayfinder Cape Town Entrepreneurs.
“I studied Child Development at the University of Texas and have spent many years working in the corporate world across different departments and management roles.”
“Today, I bring the skills and experience I've gained from both worlds together through Wayfinder. My goal is to create an environment where young entrepreneurs can explore their ideas, develop practical skills, build confidence, discover what they love to do and begin developing their own identity and personal brand.
Through Wayfinder's corporate programmes, I also work with teams to explore their shared identity, values and brand codes through creative, hands-on discovery experiences.”

Passing on skills
Opening doors.
At the heart of what I do is a simple belief: everyone deserves the chance to discover what they love.
Most of what we build with has had another life first. Salvaged parts, offcuts and things pulled out of something else. I've never lost the habit of looking at a pile of odds and ends and seeing what it could become, and that's the habit I most want to pass on.
Everyone leaves having made something. The better outcome is that they leave having learned something about themselves.

Approach
Guidance with room to explore.
Sessions begin with a clear starting point, such as a material, a mechanism or a question, and then leave space for participants to follow their own thinking.
Sonia works alongside participants rather than in front of them: asking questions, offering technique when it's needed, and letting young people arrive at their own solutions.
Wayfinder Skill Builders is a practical and creative skills-building experience. It is not medical or psychological treatment and does not replace professional care.

The wider practice
Sonia also offers separate adult wellness work through her broader Wayfinder Cape Town practice, including TRE-informed tension-release work, Neurographic Art, MARI facilitation and Access Bars. These are distinct from Skill Builders and are not offered as medical or psychological treatment.
